Minimum Admission Requirements for the MSAI Program

Admission to the MSAI program will be based on an overall appraisal of the applicant’s ability to undertake advanced graduate level coursework.

Transcripts

Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended will be reviewed for coursework and for a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on all undergraduate work completed. At a minimum, an applicant should have a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited institution recognized by the United States Department of Education or its equivalent. Above the Bachelor’s degree conditional admittance may be provided based on the evaluation of an applicant’s complete application. Admission to the program will not require any qualifying exams and admission test scores, such as the GRE or GMAT.

Letters of Recommendation

Two recommendation letters (from former professors, current or prior supervisor, community/government leaders, mentors, or experts in the field of interest, but excluding family members) are required. These letters must address the applicant’s commitment to ethics and corroborate the applicant’s essay and objective data.

Application and Essay

All applicants must complete required application forms and provide an essay written by the individual applicant (without AI or third-party assistance) which allows for the evaluation of the applicant’s communication skills, academic maturity, motivation and resources to successfully complete the program. The essay must share the applicant’s reasons for applying and detail professional goals. Each applicant should be prepared to participate in an interview which may be conducted in person or online.

Admissions Review Committee

The admissions review committee will decide whether an interview is needed. The applicant should have completed an introductory statistics course and mathematics courses through precalculus. All applicants must certify that they are not disqualified from participating in this program due to state or federal laws or regulations. Moreover, applicants must be prepared to attend face-to-face courses meeting on the campus of Auburn University at Montgomery.
